What a Zoo! (Seriously)

Sunday afternoon was our first trip to the Houston Zoo. Brandon's department at work held their annual picnic there. After circling, circling, and circling for a place to park, Brandon finally decided to drop Noah and me off and the front gate. We proceeded to the gate and there were no signs or banners indicating "company picnickers enter this way". I asked the security guard, she asked the ticket taker who told me to proceed to the Main Entrance. I thought that was the main entrance! Noah and I hiked a mile or so to the main entrance and finally got in. Brandon joined us 15-20 minutes later after finding a parking spot and hiking to the zoo.

Once inside we did enjoy a delicious lunch and Noah hung out in Meerkat Manor. These pictures crack me up!!We all got to get up close and personal with a giraffe. :) We're pretty convincing aren't we?
The zoo was SO crowded. We agreed it was a close second to Disney World on the congested scale. They were having Zoo-Boo so children were there in costume to "trunk-or-treat".

My camera is dying so here are the blurry pictures I captured.
Noah loved seeing the elephants and gave us sound effects.
What magnificent creatures. Giraffes are amazing!

Noah is standing on one leg like the flamingos. :)I just loved this tree lined path we took to get back to the car and had to take a picture. Wish it wasn't so blurry! I might get a new camera out of the deal.
