Kauai Day 2

Our bodies were still on Oklahoma time so our internal alarms woke us up before the sun the first few days. Here is a picture of sunrise from our balcony. Ahhhhh.
Saturday we headed up to the north shore.  After a delicious breakfast, we stopped at the Princeville Golf Course.  BEAUTIFUL One of the top courses in the country.  I wanted to buy my dad a Princeville Golf shirt (he got a hole in one while we were gone!), but I wanted to have money left for the rest of my trip :) so he got a Prince Golf ball and Hawaii course calendar.

Hanalei Valley Lookout.  Lots of taro crops.
Yummy fresh fruit smoothies in Hanalei!
I opted for a Blue Hawaii snow cone with the famous Macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom!

Everything is so lush!
Hanalei Bay was probably my favorite beach.  Beautiful surroundings and noisy waves!  We didn't get a picture, but the Hanalei Pier was in the Soul Surfer movie.

One of the wet caves off the side of the road on the north shore.
We finally stopped for lunch at Mediterranean Gourmet.  Look at that view!
Mediterranean Gourmet, right on the beach...
A few people asked us if we were on our honeymoon, awwww.  :)
The Kilauea Lighthouse is on the northernmost point of Kaua'i. The land surrounding it is also home to a wildlife refuge.
Beautiful views!
We were sad to see that the lighthouse was getting a facelift during our visit.  I guess she deserves it though, she's almost 100 years old.
We finished off our evening we dinner at Hukilau Lanai.  Delicious fresh seafood!  We didn't do a very good job at asking people to take our picture, so here's a picture of the sign.
