Kauai Day 1

Brandon and I just got back from a GLORIOUS, relaxing vacation in Kaua'i, Hawaii to celebrate our 10th anniversary! Our parents blessed us by staying with the kids.

It was a lonnng day of travel.  We left our house at 6am and landed in Kauai at 5:30pm, which was 10:30pm Oklahoma time!  We got an official Hawaiian flower lei greeting at the airport (total celebs, we are), got our car and headed to the hotel.  We stayed on the "Coconut Coast" thus all the coconut palms.  Beautiful!
The first morning we went to the Kauai Coffee Company plantation.  So neat!  We could have stayed there all day sampling coffee!  They had every flavor and blend imaginable.  Yum!

Coffee beans...
Brandon's happy place.

Next, we headed in to Hanapepe and saw the old swinging bridge.  If you look closely, you can see Brandon on the other side.  I didn't make it out that far.  :)
We had lunch (and our first encounter with lilikoi mustard) at Puka Dog Hawaiian style hot dogs.  SOOOOO good!  Hawaiian passion fruit is called lilikoi and it is in EVERYTHING!
After lunch we went to visit spouting horn.  It's where there is a hole in the lava shelf and water comes spraying out during large swells.

Our first beach stop was Poipu Beach.  Beautiful.
That afternoon, we saw a rainbow from our hotel balcony!
