Noah got his cast off today! Woooohoooo and P-ewwww!
The "cast-remover-guy" revved up the saw to show us that it wouldn't cut the skin and Noah burst in to tears. We knew he would. He doesn't like loud noises of any kind, lawnmowers, weedeaters, blenders, vacuums, etc. He cried through the entire process, mostly because he was scared, but I think part of him wanted to keep the cast on! He tried to put his hand back in it after they took it off. Then, we had to get more X-Rays. I think Noah thinks that is worse than getting a cast sawed off. Brandon could not get him settled down.
The doc showed us the X-Rays and said they looked good! I came straight home and gave Noah a bath to wash the dead skin, stinky cast smell crusties off his arm. He was hesitant to put his arm in the water since he hasn't been able to for over three weeks. He had a great time splashing in the tub.
Noah learned to maneuver around and play and crawl (and beat on the walls and tables) with his cast. He learned to deal with it, but we are so glad that ordeal is over! And I am so glad I don't have to answer, "what did he do to his arm?" again anytime soon!
One last picture with the cast on. Playing at the doctor's office:
Yea!
ReplyDeleteThat "bare" arm looks so good!
