Colorado

Brandon and I got to take a mini vacation the last week of February.  We are a bit sick of this long winter, but couldn't find a warm place in the U.S. with the exception of Miami, and that did not appeal to me.  Brandon hadn't been skiing in ten LONG years and since he needed a vacation in the worst way, I let him choose.  We decided on Keystone, CO.
We were going to drive and then realized we had enough points for one round trip ticket, so we flew.  After we landed on Monday morning, we got our rental car and drove to Idaho Springs for some delicious Beau Jo's Pizza!
I decided after four unsuccessful attempts at skiing that I would just sit this one out.  I was much happier sitting by the fire with a book than flying down the mountain out of control.

I rode the gondola up to the top of the mountain with Brandon and stayed in the warm lodge and admired the beauty outside.  Poor Brandon went snowboarding by himself for two days. He's so cool. ;)

Our condo was right at the foot of the mountain.  It was so nice!
On Tuesday night, we took a dinner sleigh ride.  We rode the sleigh out to a little cabin and had a delicious, WARM dinner complete with hot chocolate.  We both ate way too much and were miserable.
Here we are with our horses Bob and Tom.
In the log cabin we were serenaded by a lady and her acoustic guitar.  We snacked on yummy bread, hot chocolate and barley stew.  Main course was steak and potatoes!
The beauty of the mountains.  The pictures just don't do them justice!
While we were enjoying this, my parents were taking care of our sick baby girl.  She was SO sick.  They had to clean up throw up and do loads (and loads) of laundry.
Keystone.
We went tubing one afternoon.  It was so much fun!  We'd never tried tubing before, it was FAST!
Now this is how I like to go down the mountain!
This is one of the pictures Brandon snapped at the top of the mountain.  Beauty!
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. Psalm 95:3-4
