House Guests

We had our first overnight guests in our new house a couple weeks ago when Nana and Pawpaw came to visit!
They brought Noah a GIANT bouquet of balloons. He has had so much fun with them. It's amazing the games a kid can come up with.
We didn't do anything special, just enjoyed hanging out and spending time with each other.
They were going to babysit for us so we could go out for Valentine's Day, but we had to cancel our reservations because we both had colds and didn't want to pay for food we couldn't taste. So we all had a lovely Valentine dinner that consisted of soup and pizza sandwiches.
They agreed the 3 1/2 hour drive was much better than the 9+ hour drive. Come back soon!

Fun with Hand Me Downs

My mom was so good about saving things from our childhood. She gave me several of my old baby outfits that she kept as keepsakes.

I've had fun trying them on Elli. Loved this little sweater outfit, she wore it to church one Sunday:I used to dress up my Cabbage Patch dolls in this one:
Here I am wearing it at 3 months. She looks a little bit like me, don'tcha think?

Famous

My cousin's baby is famous *wink wink*. It seems as though she has an inside track to the Pioneer Woman and her fabulous get-togethers. Her mama, Tiff is a grad of the CIA (as in the Culinary Institute of America, not the Central Intelligence Agency:) so she could probably give the P-dub a run for her money. Maybe they could do a throwdown Bobby Flay style and invite their first cousins along as judges. Ha!

First Sleepover

Noah spent the night with memaw and pappaw for the first time without us. He did great! I don't know about you all, but age 3 has been so much more challenging for us than the "terrible" twos. We seriously needed some time to rest and regroup! We took Ellianna on a date and slept in and got some decor up on the walls.

They took him to dinner then to the high school basketball game. He didn't really like the game. I'm not sure if it was the buzzer, the cheering, the noisy band or what.

Learning the fight song...
Nervous Noah: Having popcorn with pappaw. Going to bed...Ready to see mommy, daddy, and Elli. Heading home with a fresh haircut courtesy of memaw!

My Funny Valentine

My girl turned five months old on Valentine's Day! She is the sweetest little thing. She smiles easy and often (except when I get the camera out, of course). She has found her voice! She babbles, coos, and yells, they are some of the happiest sounds I've ever heard. Her little peach fuzz hair is getting a little longer and it's darker than I thought it would be.

We got several Valentine outfits as gifts so I had fun dressing her in Valentine clothes all week. Here are some of my favorite pictures.
Looking at brother's Valentine balloon:
Bundle of love...

Winter Wonderland?

We had a BIG snowfall last week, 7 inches, I think. It snowed ALL day. It was pretty and so nice to enjoy from the comfort of home.
It snowed AGAIN this week! Would someone please remind me why we moved back?! (Just kidding, mom:). I don't ever remember a winter like this one. I feel like we live in Green Bay or Buffalo...or the Frozen Tundra! We are SO over winter!

On Monday when we looked out the window and I told Noah it was snowing, he said, "it's not snowing again!" That's what he says when he's in denial about something. He'll say, "the sun is not going down!" or " it's not dark outside!" (in denial of bedtime, I suppose). I guess after 3 snowfalls, it has lost its novelty.
Here are some pictures of our last snowfall.
Love his expression, "will I ever get to play outside in my yard?!"
Shoveling from the comfort of a dry garage...
Active little boys need to burn off lots and lots of energy so we backed the cars out and let him ride his tricycle in the garage. We did venture out for church even though half of the churches in our area were cancelled.

Spring can't come soon enough.

Unsupervised Child + Camera =

This is how Noah occupied his time while I went to change a diaper...Lovely.
