S-P-O-I-L-E-D

That's what my boy was after 13 straight days of grandparents.

Nana and pawpaw came down for a few days at the end of July (I'm SO behind on my blogging) and stayed through our anniversary so we could have a wonderful night out celebrating our 7th anniversary.

Noah was SO happy to see nana and pawpaw! He danced and jumped and skipped and showed off! They spent hours playing with some hand me downs that his aunt and cousins sent our way:I felt bad that I only cooked one meal for them. I don't cook much on the weekends and Brandon grilled for us one night. I did make the Pioneer Woman's lasagna and it was AWESOME, I highly recommend it! This is Noah at one of the restaurants throwing pawpaw's money in the fountain:
Playing at the park with pawpaw:
Noah was so sad to see them go and I think he would've gone back to Oklahoma with them, if I would've let him. Thank you nana and pawpaw for a fun visit!!
The very next afternoon memaw and pappaw arrived. Noah couldn't believe his luck!

We went to the pool one day:
Both grandpas enjoyed the train table while they were here!
Noah helped pappaw wash my car while Brandon and I were on yet another date. Two in as many weeks. (We got spoiled too.)
This is the pretty sunset we enjoyed at the park one evening. We all got to go out and celebrate my birthday!

(Not sure how memaw managed to escape all the pictures??)

We had such a fun time. When they left, Noah walked all the way to the end of the driveway and watched them drive down the street until he couldn't see them anymore, it was pitiful. We can't wait for you to come back soon!!

Isn't SHE Lovely?

Ryan and Lindsey's baby is a she!!! Alexis Jayne was born on Sunday morning, August 23rd. She weighed 5 lb. 13 oz. and she is BEAUTIFUL. It's absolutely killing me that I can't be there to meet her and hold her and love on her!!

One of their photographer friends already posted some pictures of little Alexis on her blog. Here's the link. Look at what a proud daddy my baby brother is! Noah can't wait to meet baby cousin "Awexis"! Congratulations Ryan and Lindsey!!!!! Pappaw, you're in big trouble with two new little girls to spoil. :)

Lotsa Babies!

I just found out my cousin is expecting her second baby! That means all four cousins/grandkids on my mom's side are expecting! So fun. My sweet grandma is already fretting about how she's going to accommodate everyone.

Ryan and Lindsey (my brother and his wife) are due any day now with a....?
Of course, we're having a girl in October.
My cousin Tiffany is expecting a girl in December.
And Tabitha is due in April.

We're saying lots of prayers for lots of healthy babies!

Big Boy Bed

I started this post about five weeks ago and have been waiting to be able to tie it up neatly with a happy ending, but that might be a long time coming so here goes...

We converted Noah's baby bed to a toddler bed over a month ago. My growing belly was making it quite difficult for me to get him in and out of the crib!

The first night did not go so well. Noah got out of bed at 1AM and 2AM I guess he was exploring his freedom (and our pitch black, dark house in the middle of the night). He got back in bed pretty willingly both times, but then fell out at 2:30AM (he's such a creature of habit and routine that he wouldn't put his pillow on the end with the rail). We were both exhausted on Saturday. Nap time wasn't great either, he got out of bed several times.
The following nights were great! He decided that since he was in a big boy bed that he shouldn't wear his sleep sack anymore and he wanted a blanket (not sure where he came up with that). So we retired the sleep sack :( and gave him a lightweight quilt and bigger pillow to use. He stayed in bed all night, naps have been challenging though. We had the toddler bed for two weeks then I decided that when his full-size-backordered bedding arrives I'm going to want to put his room together before baby girl gets here. So, a three weeks ago, we bought his full size mattress and upgraded to another big boy bed (the headboard is the back of his crib). I thought with the height of the bed and the safety rail, it would be a little more difficult to get out in the middle of the night. Wrong! He got up about three times the first night and naps are still challenging.
We went through a rough patch when the grandparents were here because they are obviously more fun than sleep and he didn't want to miss out on anything. My mom finally convinced him that Busy Timmy stays in his bed all night and that seemed to work. Now he just yells for daddy if he needs something at 3AM.

Things are definitely getting better, but I think this has been our most exhausting, patience-testing transition yet. I'll keep you posted.

One Month 'til Kickoff!

Football season is just one month away! I'm so excited!

You'd never know it was that close to football season by living down here. All they've given us is about 5 seconds on the local sports. That "story" consisted of the fact that ou and tx are tied for first in the Big XII.

Totally tired of hearing about Yao Ming's ankle surgery, the Houston Dynamo, the Astros, and Texans. Gimme some college football!!
