The Results are In!

I had my 20-week ultrasound this morning. Due date is still October 16th. They said everything looks good and they said,
IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Can you even believe it?! I can't. I'm a little nervous, but very excited. My husband is toast. He is simply going to melt over this little girl. I kind of just assumed it would be a boy, I don't know why, maybe because she is SO active, literally bouncing off the walls in there.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning and could not fall back asleep until 6:00a.m. I think I was a little excited to find out what we were having. It's so fun to know who we're praying for and talking about and talking to. I'm glad we can stop saying he/she, him/her, it and get to say She! Her! Girl! Wow. I think I'm in shock.

Noah went with us to the appointment and he was scared they were hurting me. He kept saying, "mommy all done, mommy all done..."

I was just telling Brandon the other day how economical this baby would be if we had a boy. All we'd need to buy would be a mattress, diapers, wipes, and maybe pacis. I have a feeling this little girl is not going to be economical. *Big Smile*

First, I need to decide what color of pink to paint the nursery. There's pure pink, pink parfait, pink tiger, barely pink, my fair lady, southern beauty, strawberry crush....hmmm, decisions decisions...
Let the pink purchasing commence!!

Mother's Day

Brandon and I both got to be with our moms on Mother's Day! That might be a first. We had a relaxing day after our busy weekend. We just got to hang out and enjoy being together.

Me, my mom, and Noah:Brandon, his mom, and Noah:
Sunday afternoon fun. We had to let Noah get out and run around before he was cooped up on an airplane. Noah LOVES bubbles and Brandon is the champion big-bubble-blower:Chasing bubbles! My precious (big) boy. What a lucky mama I am!
Off to Orlando! Sweet boy napping on the plane.

Graduation Day!

Brandon is finally (almost) finished with grad school!! He has one more class to take this summer, but they let him walk across the stage and get his MBA diploma from the University of Tulsa! I am SO proud of him. I couldn't have done it! With the load he carries at work, he still finds time to spend with us in the evening, and does homework after Noah goes to bed, on the weekends, or during his lunch hour at work. The ecstatic grad (he's the one in front of the bald guy who refused to wear his mortarboard). Don't their "hoods" look studious?
Yeaaaaa daddy!! This child was a champ during our whirlwind weekend. We asked so much of his little toddler tolerance, the long drive to the airport, the flight to memaw and pappaw's house, the long baseball game, and the lonnnnng graduation. He was doing great and hanging in there until the random, out of place graduation speech about China. I don't blame him for getting antsy, I was too! Memaw and pappaw saved the day and kept him entertained until graduation was over. He even got to see "daddy onna stage" and "daddy onna big TV" (a.k.a. JumboTron).
After graduation, we celebrated at one of Brandon's favorite Tulsa places, Carrabba's. We don't have one close to our house so it was a treat.
Of course we had to commemerate this special day with lots of pictures.
So proud of my smart hubby!!
Future grad. Class of 2025 (if I did my math right).
Daddy and the future graduate:
Pawpaw, Brandon, and Nana:
Noah had had enough of taking pictures by this time. He decided to have a seat on the grass.
After all the picture taking, we got to enjoy some cake and ice cream from Ann's. It was SO yummy!Congratulations, Brandon!!! We are SOOOOOOOO proud of you!!

Noah's First Bedlam

We got to take Noah to his first Bedlam event, the Bedlam baseball game at Driller Stadium! We thought we'd break him in with something a little less intense than the football rivalry.

Here he is waiting for the game to start. He clapped for both teams as they introduced the players. Before we left the house, memaw was telling him we were going to the "ballgame" so the entire way there he was telling us "going to the ballgame!" Then when we got to our seats, he'd look at us every little bit and say, "at the ballgame!" He was SO excited. Pistols Firing!! Noah's showing us his "Go Pokes" guns. Daddy took him down to find Boomer and Sooner the mascot ponies and they couldn't find them. Brandon said Noah was yelling Boomer Sooner trying to find the horses all the while sporting his orange and white OSU shirt. Poor confused kid. They never found the mascots. They did find Pistol Pete, but I think his giant head was a little too much. Noah said, "no Pete".Orange Power! Sitting with Memaw and Pappaw. Noah lasted until the bottom of the seventh inning which I thought was amazing.

We all enjoyed the game and the company, but someone special was missing. My dad's dear friend Lloyd was the most generous man you'd ever have the pleasure of meeting. He bought our Bedlam tickets every year. He bought them in bulk and gave them to family, friends, and clients. This year he bought our tickets as usual, and as usual would not let us pay for them. Lloyd passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in April. His eldest son insisted that we had to go to the game because that's what his dad would've wanted. We really missed his conversation, laughing, joking, and teasing. I'm sure he was rooting for the Cowboys, from the best seat he's ever had.

Sand + Water = Messy Boy

I bought Noah a Sand & Water Cart a couple weeks ago. The boy loves to be outside and we don't have anything for him to play with in our backyard.

I guess this is how little boys and girls in make-believe land play with their sand and water cart, it's so clean and pristine:This is how real little boys play with it:
He LOVES the thing. It is SO messy, but what can you do? I just let him have his fun, stripped him outside then took him straight to the tub to rinse off.
He put grass, leaves, and "flowers" in the water. At one point I left the back door open, went inside to get something to eat and when I returned, he was pouring the sand in to the water. It just makes me smile, he is ALL boy and I love it.

We've used it a couple times with water only. The kid loves to play in the water, whether it's washing hands, bath time, puddles, fountains, you name it. So of course, it was just as much fun sans the messy sand. Maybe next time I'll do sand only, then when I get brave again, I'll let him have both.
