Resurrection Weekend 2013

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.  But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.  Matthew 28:2-6

We had a very meaningful passion week!  Our church did something called the stations of the cross.  We could walk through the "stations" and touch the nails and the crown of thorns, smell the incense, walk through the garden and read scripture to coincide.  It was so powerful!  We didn't take Noah through it this year, but definitely next year!

Here are the kids before the Good Friday service.
Resurrection Sunday!!

My family at Grandma's....
Pappaw, Noah, Elli and Memaw.
Hunting eggs.
After lunch and playing at great-grandma's church, we went to her house for some exploring.  Noah LOVED being outside in the open country!

Spring Break 2013

I can't remember the last time I looked SOOO forward to spring break!  A whole week of staying home, not picking out clothes every night, not packing a lunch, not getting Elli out of bed before she's ready.  We were all excited about just staying home!

We decided to venture out to the zoo on Tuesday along with the rest of Tulsa county!  Look at the line!  The ticket booth is past the building with the green roof.  It was madness.  It was the only nice weather day, so I knew it would be crowded, but it was one of the few things on my boy's "to-do" list, so we did it.
Sister wanted to ride the carousel and chose the ugly gorilla!
The peacocks were showing off.  So pretty!

Playing on the playground!  Cheeeese!

"It's raining, hold your umbrella."  :)  Love that girl!

It was so funny watching this giraffe reach through the fence for grass.
Wednesday was cold and windy so we chose a fun indoor activity, bowling!
Checking the score and doing the math..."how many more points do I need?"
Noah decided one game was enough, he wanted to move on to the arcade.
Shootin' hoops!
Air hockey...
Daddy took off work Thursday and Friday so we took a little road trip to OKC.  We went to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History on the campus of OU.  Noah LOVED it.  Here he is next to a dinosaur thighbone.

It's crazy to think that some of these fossils were discovered in Oklahoma!

We got to meet Reed Timmer, storm chaser extraordinaire!  Brandon was most excited about that.  ;)
Here they are pointing out a violent tornado!  :)
They had a special bug exhibit there.  Yikes!
Noah the science kid.
The Dominator!  Elli Belle did go with us, she just hung out in her stroller most of the time. She was kind of feeling under the weather, poor baby.
I was going to be super wife and go tour the Legends Lobby at the Switzer Center with my boys, but doggone it (*wink wink*), they were closed for spring break!  We saw an open gate and were able to get in and show Noah the stadium.  This is Brandon's current favorite picture.

After this we ate a late lunch at The Greek House.  They only have two things on their menu.  It was SO yummy, too bad it's in Norman.
We stayed at a hotel in downtown OKC (but so did everyone else).  They had a fun pool, the kids had a blast going down the toddler sized slide over and over and over...  I'm disappointed I didn't get any pictures.  I thought we'd swim multiple times, but it was miserably crowded.

On our way home we stopped at Pop's Soda Ranch on Route 66.  They have over 600 kinds of soda!
Noah said, "no way!"  But Elli will try anything.  She wanted pink!  She said it was kind of "spicy", but told Noah it just tasted like juice.  Ha!
It made her kind of crazy!  :)
Noah wished spring break was longer.  Now he's counting down the weeks until school is out so he can stay home with us all the time!
